Barbara Abdalla joined VHM in April 2022 as an associate in the Dispute Resolution team, with a particular focus on competition law and international arbitration as well as corporate law.

To date, Barbara has been involved in several complex competition law proceedings. In corporate law, too, she is currently focusing on the highly sensitive start-up phase. There she has assisted dozens of entrepreneurs in setting up their first (or one of many) companies up to successful registration and is also available to them on a wide range of corporate law issues.

Currently, Barbara is demonstrating her knowledge in pending arbitration disputes before the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC).

In addition to language skills in Arabic and Spanish, Barbara holds additional diplomas in mediation and dispute resolution, as well as in human rights, and obtained a diploma in international arbitration from the Austrian Arbitration Academy. In this specialised area, she has already assisted VHM in a post-M&A dispute involving a group of international shareholders before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
